Sam J. Munafo
President/ Chief Executive Officer

Sam Munafo brings with him a wealth of bank management and leadership experience. His career began in 1972 with First National Bank and Trust in Hamilton, Ohio. Throughout his career, Munafo has held leadership positions with several prominent Midwestern institutions, among them The Clyde Savings Bank and Indiana Lawrence Bank.

In 2001, Munafo was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Community First Bank and Trust in Celina, Ohio. Four years later, he returned to Hamilton, Ohio to assist in the consolidation of three regional charters into First Financial Bank Corporation (FFB). Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Banking Officer of FFB, a publicly-traded firm. FFB’s flagship subsidiary, First Financial Bank, operates over 125 branches in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.

Munafo holds an Accounting degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is also a graduate of the American Bankers Association Commercial Lending School and the Graduate School of Banking, a school that is sponsored by the Central States Conference of Bankers Association. He was a class instructor for the Ohio Bankers Association as well as serving on the Governmental Affairs Division of the Ohio Bankers League.

Munafo’s community involvement has included service as a member of the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, Hospice, United Way, local hospitals, and various other community organizations. He also served as Chairman of the Board for the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and on the Advisory Board for the Miami University School of Business.

Senior Executive Vice President/ Chief Operations, Technology & ERM Officer

Jeff serves as Senior Executive Vice President at Inter National Bank responsible for areas of technology, operations and enterprise risk management. 

Prior to joining Inter National Bank, Jeff was Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer for Southwest Bank.  He has been an active leader in banking, operations and technology for the past 25 years.  Outside of the banking sector, Jeff has worked with several of the largest consumer product goods companies leading global initiatives in product lifecycle management and product assortment.

Jeff has been a speaker at several industry events, served on the Tarrant County Bankers Association Board and has served on the Business Digital Banking Product Advisory Board at Digital Insight and Intuit.

Jeff earned his BA in Business Analysis/Management Information Systems from Texas A&M University.  In addition, he graduated with honors from the Graduate School of Banking in Colorado. 

Mike Long

Executive Vice President / Chief Credit Officer

With more than 33 years in regulatory bank supervision, all with the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Dana Michael Long has been directly involved in community bank oversight. He possess a broad set of skills with experience in a wide variety of banking activities.

Long joined the OCC in March 1977 and became a commissioned National Bank Examiner in 1983. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico, with a degree in finance.

Executive Vice President / Chief Lending Officer

George Cardenas joined Inter National Bank in 2003; he currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer for commercial banking. With over 12 years of lending experience, he is responsible for managing all aspects of Inter National Bank’s Lending Division, including SBA Lending.

George holds a Bachelors and a Master Degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas Pan American, where he graduated Cum Laude.  He is also a graduate of the Southwest Graduate School of Banking from Southern Methodist University.

He is a strong community advocate as is evident from his involvement in numerous non-profit organizations. George is currently involved with several organizations, including: Trustee Board Member at Boys and Girls Club of Edinburg, Board Member at the Juan Diego Catholic School, Board Member at the Zoning Board of Adjustments in Edinburg, Advisory Board Member UTRGV Business School, and Advisory Board member at the McAllen Economic Development Corporation. George is also an active member and participates in the annual Cattle Barons Ball event for American Cancer Society where he served as committee chair in 2015.  

George resides in Edinburg, Texas with his wife Christina and beautiful little girl Zoe.

George E. Daves joined Inter National Bank in 2012; he currently serves as Executive Vice President and Compliance Officer.  With over 30 years of banking experience, he is responsible for managing all aspects of Consumer Compliance at the bank, including Fair Lending laws and the Community Reinvestment Act.

George holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Laredo State University.  He is also a graduate of the Institute of Certified Bankers and has been a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) since 2004.

Karen A. Moore moved to the Rio Grande Valley in 1972 and began her banking career in 1979 at a bank based in Harlingen, Texas. She has over 35 years of banking experience and has worked in multiple areas of the banking sector, including Data Processing, Information Technology, Information Security (Information Security Officer (ISO)), Physical Security (Security Officer), Accounting, Operations (Chief Operations Officer) and Bank Secrecy (Certified BSA Officer), just to name a few. Moore worked in Data Processing for over 16 years where she converted many banks throughout the state of Texas. Her expertise is in the management and training of banking systems.

Moore has served on numerous Banking Committees and has also served as Secretary to the Board of Directors. She attended Texas Tech School of Banking.

Marin Espinosa

Marin Espinosa has an extensive background in international banking with a strong emphasis in personal banking relationship management. He has over 25 years of experience in building strong relationships with international clients to offer them deposit and lending services.

Espinosa earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 1981 with a concentration in Marketing at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
